“ This is one of the best restaurants in Cardiff, the small, cosy vibe makes you feel you are apart of the kitchen. The stand out foods I tried were the beef croquettes I could have had 5 more portions, the fried chicken and Parmesan fries were also incredible. The waiter James served us he was exceptional gave us great recommendations and explained each dish that arrived, I couldn’t of asked for any more. Also helps when you see the actor Charlie heaton sitting at the bar to make you feel your dinning with the A-listers ”

“ Visited for my partner’s birthday and was not disappointed. We went for the chef’s tasting menu and it was incredible. I can see why everyone raves about the croquettes and carrot, they were absolutely delicious, we could’ve eaten a full plate of them! They even brought out a happy birthday treat and the chefs sung happy birthday to my partner. The staff made us feel very welcomed and Harrison was very attentive and ensured our glasses remained topped up. We were sat right by the kitchen and I thought it would be awkward.. I was wrong! The chefs were very chatty and had great banter and we loved watching them cook. We can’t wait to return and try some other dishes Parallel has to offer. We finished the evening off by visiting Nightshade for some drinks, these were also incredible. The decor and the attentiveness from all members of staff was second to none. Highly recommend! ”

“ We enjoyed a really delicious meal here on St David’s Day. Didn’t get the name of our waitress but she had a slick back pony and was blonde and she was very attentive and gave some great recommendations. We had the beef croquettes which we knew we’d love because they're our favourite from Pasture. We also tried the leek croquettes and they were so good! The flatbread was delicious but we weren’t too keen on the aubergine dip - it was a bit too sweet for us. The carrot was really meaty and was definitely a really interesting way to cook carrot but I’m not sure it was the best thing on the menu as many seem to imply. The scallops were good but I think I’d go for a different fish option next time. The beef was cooked really well but it would have been better with some sauce. Our wine was delicious and I had a dill and lemongrass margarita which was so light and refreshing. We also went to the speak easy bar next door and had a drink there which was a great way to end our evening. ”

“ Parallel is an absolute knockout if you can grab a counter seat (and still banging even if you can’t). Set in central Cardiff, it brings fire-led cooking to life with bold flavours, moody interiors, and a menu that mixes both surprising and fun ingredients. Highlights? The chicken skin is crispy gold, the short rib croquettes are rich and satisfying, and the pork chop is thick, juicy, and cooked right in front of you over open flame. Even the non-alcoholic cocktails were excellent – the kimchi and tomato number had no right being that tasty. An umami flavour punch. Service was slick but relaxed, and the whole evening had a warm, personal feel. Great value, great energy, and easily one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in Cardiff. Let’s not forget our front row seats for the singing chef. Loved it. Highly recommended. ”
